Inside the Indo-Canadian business delegation

Honoured to be part of the official Indian Ministerial & Business Delegation alongside Hon’ble Minister Shri Piyush Goyal. The Canada-India Trade & Investment Summit opened doors that will shape HabileLabs’ next chapter in Canada, incredible energy, powerful conversations, and a shared vision for the future.

Minister Goyal led the Indian business delegation to Canada with one clear mandate from PM Narendra Modi: conclude CEPA, and triple India-Canada trade from USD 8.5 billion to USD 50 billion by 2030. On the Canadian side, Minister Maninder Sidhu stood shoulder to shoulder, a signal that the partnership has political will on both sides of the table. Canadian PM Mark Carney called the proposed free trade agreement “a game changer for Canadian workers and businesses, unlocking a massive new market.”

H.E. Dinesh Patnaik, High Commissioner of India, put it well at the summit: “This phase is about action, reducing the digital divide, expanding access to computing power, enabling cooperation, and ensuring AI progress is planet-friendly and people-centric.” India brings scale, talent, and real-world datasets; Canada brings deep research and open innovation ecosystems. HabileLabs sits at that intersection, with AWS Advanced Partner status and a growing Canadian presence.

Over the course of the visit, Ankit Dhir and Ankit Rawat, Director-Canada, represented HabileLabs across a series of high-level engagements: the AWS Partner Keynote in Toronto (where AWS shared that Canada’s AI market is projected to grow from $9.5B to $32.2B this decade), a reception hosted by the Consulate General of India in Toronto and the Indo Canada Chamber of Commerce, and direct conversations with Canadian technology leaders including Silver Touch Technologies Canada.

The visit built on HabileLabs’ earlier presence in Canada as a Gold Sponsor of Cloud Summit Vancouver 2026 at Science World, and exhibitor at Web Summit Vancouver, part of a deliberate, sustained push into the Canadian market.
